Scottish Approach to Service Design
The vision for the Scottish Approach to Service Design is that the people of Scotland are supported and empowered to actively participate in the definition, design and delivery of their public services (from policy making to live service improvement).

This publication has been created to make sure we have a shared vision and ways of working. Have we described the aspirations and principles of the Scottish Approach to Service Design in a way that you can relate to, and support? Will this document help you to build a SAtSD culture in your organisation?
Whilst this resource sets out the key elements and principles of SAtSD, we also have tools, guidance and examples of good practice that can support teams to embed and strengthen person-centred approaches in the design and delivery of public services. Information on how the principles have been applied in different contexts across the public sector will be shared as further guidance is developed.
We want your feedback so we can continue to develop tools, methods and support to help teams deliver in this way.
Contact us at design@gov.scot to share your feedback.
