This report presents management information for Scotland’s Cladding Remediation Programme to provide an indication of progress.

Key points 

Scottish Government funded assessment and remediation:

  • Of the 1,799 expressions of interest submitted via the Single Open Call, as at 30 June 2026, 956 (53%) had been identified as likely to be eligible for Scottish Government funding for a Single Building Assessment (SBA) and 843 (47%) had been identified as ineligible for funding.
  • As at 30 June 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme had provided Local Authorities with funding to carry out SBAs in relation to 376 expressions of interest. Offers of funding had also been issued to Registered Social Landlords and factors or property managers in relation to a further 138 and 12 expressions of interest respectively.
  • As at 30 June 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme had been informed that Scottish Government funded SBAs were underway for 219 buildings, which was an increase of 70 from 31 March 2026.
  • As at 30 June 2026, 16 Scottish Government funded SBAs had been completed, which had not changed since September 2025.
  • Cladding remediation work funded by Scottish Government was finished for one building in 2024, but as at 30 June 2026, further work recommended by the SBA, which the homeowners are responsible for had not been completed. As at 30 June 2026, remediation work was underway in a further two buildings.

Developer funded assessment and remediation:

  • As at 30 June 2026, Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey, Barrat Redrow, Miller Homes and Bellway had reported that they were responsible for a total of 122 buildings.
  • As at 30 June 2026, SBAs were underway for a quarter of these buildings (31), with Bellway Homes being responsible for over half of these SBAs (17).
  • As at 30 June 2026, one SBA had been completed, which identified recommendations for remediation work, and remediation work had started. Remediation work had also started for one other building where the SBA was still underway.

Financial information:

  • As at 30 June 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme’s expenditure for the financial year 2026/27 was £2.3 million, bringing the total expenditure from financial year 2021/22 to financial year 2026/27 to £21.6 million.
  • In March 2026, an additional £31.5 million was transferred to Local Authorities to fund SBAs and associated mitigation measures in relation to expressions of interest made via the Single Open Call.
