Group Overview

The Public Procurement Group (PPG) provides strategic leadership for public procurement across Scotland, bringing together senior representatives from across the public sector to support national priorities and public service reform.

Recognising the diversity of Scotland’s procurement landscape, where organisations retain responsibility for their own commissioning and procurement decisions, the Group champions a ‘Once for Scotland’ approach that promotes collaboration, strengthens alignment and reduces unnecessary duplication. By working collectively while respecting sector-specific governance arrangements, delivery models and operational requirements, the Group seeks to maximise the value and impact of public procurement for Scotland’s public services, communities and economy.

Our vision

The PPG has established its objectives for 2026-27, providing a focused and actionable direction for the group, firmly aligned to the Public Procurement Strategy for Scotland and its intended outcomes, with a clear expectation that the group will play an active role in driving the strategy from policy intent into demonstrable delivery.
