Mission statement

Scottish Government’s vision for public participation is that people can be involved in the decisions that affect them, making Scotland a more inclusive, sustainable and successful place. The Participation Commitment is a key route to achieving this. We are first focusing on developing resources and infrastructure within Scottish Government to support staff to deliver high quality participation work. In the longer term, we hope this work will expand to collaboratively developing a National Participation Strategy, along with the delivery of other IPDD working group recommendations agreed to by Scottish Government.
