New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy: Delivery Plan 2024-2026 - Year 1 Report

A report on the progress made between July 2024 and August 2025 by the Scottish Government, COSLA, Scottish Refugee Council and wider partners to deliver the actions set out in the New Scots refugee integration strategy: delivery plan 2024 - 2026.


Highlights

Almost 13,300 people have been supported through calls to the Refugee Support Service.

New Scots funding provided in the 2024 /2025 academic year enabled over 1,300 people to access ESOL classes.

More than 2,000 households have been able to access casework and integration planning support through the Refugee Support Service.

As part of Scottish Government’s work to support community projects, over £800,000 funding was provided to third sector organisations in the 2025/2026 financial year to fund a wide range of support to refugees.

The establishing of a group of New Scots Advisers and the central role they have played in Core Group meetings, Regional Integration Networks and the Leadership Board event.
