GDP Monthly Estimate: November 2025

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.


In the three months to November, compared to the three months to August

 

  • Scotland’s real onshore Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by an estimated 0.3%. This follows a revised growth of 0.3% in the three months to October 2025 and unrevised growth of 0.3% in the three months to September.

 

  • Production sector output is estimated to have grown by 0.7%, while the services sector output is estimated to have grown by 0.3%. Construction sector output is estimated to have contracted by 1.1%.

 

  • Profession, Scientific and Technical Services made the largest positive contribution to overall GDP growth, contributing around 0.2 percentage points. Information & Communications made the largest negative contribution, contributing -0.1 percentage points to headline growth.

 

Monthly GDP is estimated to have contracted by 0.4% in November 2025. This follows contraction of 0.2% in October and growth of 0.8% in September.
