Mental Health and Wellbeing Leadership Board: update - September 2025
An update outlining the plans for refreshing the mental health and wellbeing strategy delivery plan and Workforce action plan
5. Mapping of engagement to date and ideas for the next Delivery Plan
Annex A summarises the feedback we have received to date – from members of the Leadership Board, the Equalities & Human Rights Forum and Diverse Experience Advisory Panel, the Joint Strategic Board (JSB) and from Scottish Government policy leads. Annex A includes the following:
- The 10 overarching Priorities of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy. These priorities set the direction for achieving the Strategy’s vision and outcomes, and also inform the structure of the current Delivery Plan. We propose that actions in the refreshed Plan should continue to be mapped against the Strategy’s 10 overarching Priorities and consider what workforce related actions are required to ensure effective delivery.
- A high-level summary of the areas of focus previously agreed by the Leadership Board.
- How these priorities and suggested areas of focus would feed into and support the wider health and social care reform work, including the Service Renewal Framework, the Population Health Framework and the NHS Operational Improvement Plan.
- Actions from the existing Delivery Plan and Workforce Action Plan that Scottish Government and COSLA have identified as possible candidates for continued inclusion in the refreshed Plan, with updated wording to be developed in due course.
- Policy options as received from members of the Strategy’s governance structure, including Leadership Board, JSB, Equalities & Human Rights Forum, and the Diverse Experience Advisory Panel.
- Potential additional policy options identified by Scottish Government policy leads.
