Inflation Adjusted HMRC Regional Trade Statistics for Scotland Q2 2025

This report contains inflation adjusted HMRC Regional Trade Statistics for Scotland.


In the year ending June 2025, the value of Scotland’s international goods exports remained largely unchanged at £24.1 billion compared to the previous year.

The commodity category with the highest export value in the year ending June 2025 was Drink at £5 billion. This was followed by Power generating machinery at £4 billion, General industrial machinery at £1.8 billion, Fish and shellfish at £1.2 billion, and Medicinal & pharmaceutical products at £1.1 billion.

Drink and Power generating machinery account for 41% of Scotland’s international goods exports. In the year ending June 2025 exports of Drink accounted for 22% and Power generating machinery accounted for 18% of Scotland’s export value.

Since the year ending June 2019 Scotland’s goods exports fell by 14%. This was driven by falls in Power generating machinery (down 22%), Apparel & clothing (down 78%) and Organic Chemicals (down 70%) which had the most impactful declines.
