In the year ending June 2025 Scotland’s goods imports remained largely unchanged with a value of £23.6 billion.
Over this period the largest decreases in imports were seen in Power generating machinery (down 37%), Manufactures of metal (down 50%) and Road vehicles (down 13%).
There were increases in Electrical machinery & appliances (up 23%), Animal feed (up 49%) and General industrial machinery (up 13%).
EU imports were also unchanged overall between the year ending June 2025 and the previous year, as were imports from non-EU countries.

Over the longer term Scotland’s imports have decreased (down 6% in the year ending June 2025 since the corresponding period in 2019). EU imports decreased by 13% over this period, while non-EU imports showed relatively little change.
