Other countries do better than the UK. We have looked at Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.

The information shows that these countries almost always:

• are richer than the UK
• have less of a gap between the richest and poorest people

• have fewer children living in poverty
• are happier than the UK.

These countries are wealthier, happier and fairer than the UK.

An independent Scotland cannot be changed overnight. But an independent Scotland could be successful.

An independent Scotland would have full powers. We can then build a country that could match these other countries.
