GDP First Quarterly Estimate 2026 Q1 (January to March)

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure the output of the economy in Scotland.


Compared to the Quarter 1 of 2025, Scotland’s economy is estimated to have grown by 0.8% over the year in real terms. Over the same period UK GDP grew by 1.1%.

Compared to the same quarter last year, output in the services sector grew by 1.4%, output in the construction sector grew by 0.1%, output in the production sector contracted by 2.0%, and output in the agriculture, forestry & fishing sector contracted by 3.0%.
