Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming: Governance Framework
Sets out the Scottish Government’s approach to delivery of the Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Action Plan and how we will ensure senior-level ownership and visible leadership.
Accountability and Transparency
The Terms of Reference, membership, meeting notes and other updates will be published externally on a dedicated area of the Scottish Government’s website to increase transparency.
This will supplement annual reporting on the Action Plan, which will align wherever possible with statutory reporting duties, including the requirement to publish a Mainstreaming Report every two years. We anticipate first reporting will be alongside Mainstreaming reporting in April 2027.
The Board will have an ongoing responsibility to hold action owners to account on progress against actions and will ensure clear oversight and escalation routes are maintained through the mainstreaming governance arrangements.
