Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming: Governance Framework
Sets out the Scottish Government’s approach to delivery of the Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Action Plan and how we will ensure senior-level ownership and visible leadership.
Ministerial Role
The Minister with responsibility for mainstreaming equality and human rights will provide leadership and oversight of the Framework. They will:
- attend at least one Board meeting per year;
- receive readouts of Board meetings and updates on the delivery of actions; and
- engage with their Ministerial peers in order to remove barriers to the implementation of actions and to address gaps in the mainstreaming efforts of the organisation.
At the time of publication the Minister with responsibility for mainstreaming equality and human rights is the Minister for Equalities and International Development, Simita Kumar MSP.
