Electricity Storage

As of the end of March 2026, there were 24 operational electricity storage projects with an estimated capacity of 1,583 MW in Scotland (Figure 3). Of these there were:

  • 22 battery storage projects with an estimated capacity of 843 MW; and
  • 2 pumped hydro storage projects with an estimated capacity of 740 MW.
