Easy Read Interim National Care Service Advisory Board: Advice to Scottish Ministers and Council Leaders
Easy read version of the Interim National Care Service Advisory Board's priority advice prepared for Scottish Ministers and Council Leaders to help drive improvement and make sure services are consistent, fair and high-quality across Scotland.
Self-Directed Support
Self-Directed Support is when people who use social care services can make decisions about their own care.
Direct payments are part of Self-Directed Support. A person can receive money to organise their own care.
The Interim NCS Advisory Board has advised the government and local councils to let people choose how they spend their direct payments.
This is so people have more choice and control over the services they receive.
The Interim NCS Advisory Board has also given advice to local councils and health and social care partnerships.
