Easy Read Interim National Care Service Advisory Board: Advice to Scottish Ministers and Council Leaders
Easy read version of the Interim National Care Service Advisory Board's priority advice prepared for Scottish Ministers and Council Leaders to help drive improvement and make sure services are consistent, fair and high-quality across Scotland.
Getting It Right for Everyone
Getting It Right for Everyone is an approach to designing health and social care services.
It is also known as GIRFE.
GIRFE makes sure services work well for everyone who uses them.
It does this by focussing on what people need.
The Interim NCS Advisory Board has given the Scottish Government advice to help make sure GIRFE is used in all parts of Scotland.
The advice said the government should:
- make sure GIRFE is part of national policies and strategies for health and social care
- support the use of GIRFE in local health and social care services
- think about using GIRFE in more general public sector reform
The Interim NCS Advisory Board has also said that local councils, health boards and health and social care partnerships should:
- do more to use GIRFE in their organisations
- choose someone in their organisations to lead on GIRFE
- work together to share experiences of working with GIRFE
- report every year on what work they are doing with GIRFE
