Turnover
In Wave 80 businesses were asked how their turnover compared with the previous calendar month.
Figure 4: In Wave 80, 38.1% of businesses reported that their turnover had increased in March 2023 compared to February 2023. Whereas 9.6% of businesses reported that their turnover had decreased over this period – rising to 21.0% of businesses in the Administration & Support Services industry sector, and 18.4% in the Construction sector.

The top three challenges reported by businesses as impacting their turnover were the cost of labour (32.6%), the cost of materials (28.9%) and economic uncertainty (26.5%).
