Modernising recycling services
We are improving recycling services to increase consistency, quality and carbon performance.
We will help ensure recycling systems are simpler and more effective for households and businesses by:
- developing a statutory household waste recycling code of practice to set out consistent service standards for local authorities and improve recycling performance
- supporting recycling infrastructure through the Recycling Improvement Fund, including investment in local authority services to improve collection, sorting and processing
- improving recycling performance in the commercial sector through targeted support, guidance and engagement to increase recycling rates and reduce waste
