Imports and exports

Great Britain has a high health status with regard to fish, shellfish molluscs and crustaceans. To protect this and prevent the introduction and spread of disease, imports must come from countries, zones or farms with at least the equivalent health status. Imports from countries, zones or farms that have a lower health status are prevented.

The Fish Health Inspectorate must be notified of all planned imports and exports using the relevant notification forms

Please note that as of 31 January 2020, trade with EU and EFTA countries will continue under current trade rules. No changes will be made until the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020.
