The monitor brings together a range of indicators to provide a baseline for assessing progress towards the development of a wellbeing economy in Scotland.

4. Summary of the data

The data gives us a mixed picture. Greenhouse gas emissions per capita, marine and terrestrial abundance, relative poverty, preventable death rates, the gender pay gap and the proportion of employees earning less than the living wage are all broadly falling over the periods covered in this document. Meanwhile, terrestrial occupancy, young people's participation and investment are increasing.
