UK Cetacean Conservation Strategy: equality impact assessment
Equality impact assessment for the UK Cetacean Conservation Strategy.
Executive Summary
This Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) has been undertaken to identify impacts on equality groups brought about by the introduction of the UK Cetacean Conservation Strategy. The Strategy aims to ensure the conservation and protection of cetaceans in UK waters.
The Strategy does not introduce any new policies, instead acting as a framework for conservation action. It also considers vulnerabilities and pressures facing cetaceans. The Strategy as a standalone document will have no impact on individuals or groups with protected characteristics. If actions stemming from the Strategy are further developed and implemented, these would be monitored and assessed for any impacts going forward.
