As our work has progressed, there has been international interest in the success of Scotland’s Social Security Programme.
2022-2024: Canada
Our team assisted Employment and Social Development Canada, a federal department responsible for improving the standard of living, skills, and quality of life for Canadians through labour market, social development and income security programs, with:
- How to set the scope and establish the costs of a Programme
- How to operate and support their IT systems
- How to set up and run an assurance process for their Programme.
2023: Finland
Our team met with a Finnish Government delegation to advise on:
- How we set up the Social Security Programme
- How we set our technical requirements
- How we went to tender and procured our IT solution.
2025: Iceland
Our team met with an Icelandic Government delegation to discuss social security principles and administration.
The Programme has also received several industry and public sector awards.
2025: UK IT Awards: Carer Support Payment
Highly Commended.
2024: Digital and Transformation Project of the Year Award:
Awarded to the Social Security Project Management Team at the Government Project Delivery Awards in Westminster for Scottish Child Payment.
2023: The Digital Public Services Award:
Awarded to the Adult Disability Payment team at the Scottish Public Sector Awards for the team’s groundbreaking use of user-led design to deliver innovative new services for and on behalf of the people of Scotland.
2023: UK IT Industry Awards:
Awarded to the Adult Disability Payment team in recognition of their passion, pride and purpose.
2023: Progressive Policy Award:
At the Demystifying Death Awards.
2021: Scottish Public Services Award:
Awarded to the Programme as the team that best embodies the spirit of public service reform, showcasing the exceptional public sector of the future – working across departmental and organisational boundaries, placing the citizen at the centre of service delivery and working to tackle the causes of social ills, rather than solely the symptoms.
2021: European Software Testing Awards:
Best use of automation in a non-functional software testing programme.
2020: Management Consultancies Association:
Awarded the Change and Transformation in the Public Sector Award (together with IBM) for launching Social Security Scotland.
2020: European Software Testing Awards:
Best Agile Project.
