Stage 1 Theories of Change

This report contains four Theories of Change; one each for Scottish Rural Network, Scottish Rural Action and Community Led Local Development and one overarching Theory of Change which covers the rural community support ecosystem as a whole. They provide a useful descriptive overview of each of the elements under review.

Stage 2 Review of Policy and Delivery Context

This report describes the recent, current and future UK and Scottish policy and delivery context for Scottish Rural Network, Scottish Rural Action and Community Led Local Development.

Stage 2 International Case Studies

Four international case studies were commissioned that demonstrate different community support policies, initiatives and governance structures. These are:

Stage 3 Community Case Studies

Six place-based case studies present findings from research with rural and island communities. A case study has also been published with findings from work with young people aged between 18 and 30 living or working in rural and island areas of Scotland.

Stage 3 Review Report

This report sets out results from the review of Community Led Local Development, Scottish Rural Network and Scottish Rural Action. It analyses the fieldwork and data collected in previous stages on these three elements under review.

Stage 4 Monitoring and evaluation

The Reviewing approaches and tools report reviews monitoring and evaluation approaches and tools for rural community development interventions.
