Social Renewal Advisory Board: our response

The Scottish Government’s initial response to the Social Renewal Advisory Board’s Report “If not now, when?”.

Conclusions

While the work listed above demonstrates that we are not starting from scratch, there is clearly more to be done. The Board's report and recommended actions are testament to the big thinking and bold and innovative action required to help us recover from the pandemic.

As noted above, it will be for the next government to grasp the chance to work in real partnership - with communities of identity and of place - with Local Government, the third sector and with business and employers - to drive change, address poverty, advance equality and embed human rights. Using the National Performance Framework as our guiding star and using the Board's report as a roadmap there is a real opportunity to meet our commitments for a wellbeing economy, drive forward our work on social renewal and build a stronger, fairer and more equal Scotland.
