Annex B - Glossary
“the 1976 Act” is the Divorce (Scotland) Act 1976.
“the 1977 Act” is the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977
“the 1988 Act” is the Civil Evidence (Scotland) Act 1988.
“the 1995 Act” is the Children (Scotland) Act 1995
“the 2004 Act” is the Civil Partnership Act 2004
“the 2006 Act” is the Family Law (Scotland) Act 2006
“the 2014 Act” is the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Act 2014
“NRS” means National Records of Scotland
“the Registrar General” means the Registrar General for Births, Deaths and Marriages for Scotland
“dissolution” refers to ending a civil partnership. It is to civil partnership what divorce is to marriage.
“the SCJC” is the Scottish Civil Justice Council.
“the SCTS” is the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
“SLAB” is the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
