This draft document is an assessment of the likely effects of legislating to implement the recommendations and draft Bill in the Scottish Law Commission’s Report on Cohabitation on the rights and wellbeing of children. It is intended to support engagement with the Scottish Government’s consultation on these recommendations. The Scottish Government will continue to review and update this document where required during the decision-making and any Parliamentary process. Any future iterations will reflect an increased understanding of these impacts as the amount of evidence available continues to grow.
