Scope of survey

The exercise covers local authority primary, secondary and special schools. Data for local authority nurseries should not be included, unless they are part of a local authority primary school. Joint nursery and primary schools should be treated as a primary school. Data for standalone nurseries should not be included anywhere in this collection.

Information is requested for all schools open at some point between the beginning of the last financial year and now. This means that schools which were closed or mothballed during the financial year should be included. For any closed or mothballed centres you should supply relevant information from the point the school was closed/mothballed.
