Scottish Crime and Justice Survey 2016/17: main findings

This report details the main findings from the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey conducted 2016-2017.

Thanks go to a number of people involved in the development, implementation and reporting of the SCJS 2016/17. In particular the 5,567 people across Scotland who took the time to provide their thoughts and opinions in the survey, as well as the interviewers and support staff who carried out the interviews. Thanks also go to colleagues at Ipsos MORI and ScotCen for their support and advice across all aspects of the survey management, and to staff in the Office of the Chief Statistician at the Scottish Government for methodological inputs.

Comments and suggestions

We are committed to continual improvement and would welcome any comments or suggestions on how the SCJS Main Findings Report could be improved or adapted in future. We will also consult users in the months after publication to gather their views on changes introduced in the 2016/17 report and outputs.
