Personal footcare guidance: equality impact assessment

Equality impact assessment supporting the refreshed personal footcare guidance, ensuring it promotes inclusive, accessible foot health advice for all. It considers impacts across protected characteristics.

Scope

A Short Life Working Group (SLWG) was established to lead the refresh of this guidance. This group was in a position to provide advice, and expertise whilst supporting engagement with relevant stakeholders.

Members of the group included clinicians, podiatry leads at NHS Boards, NHS Education Scotland (NES) and Royal College of Podiatry (profession specific) to allow broad input into the content and ensuring accuracy in respect of how services are currently delivered in Scotland.

Protected characteristics have been considered as part of this work, in respect of how the refresh of this guidance will impact on each individual characteristic. Thought has also been given to intersectionality where more than one characteristic could impact on individuals access to care.
