This report presents the number of people registered with a general practice in Scotland and diagnosed with one or more of 25 specific neurological conditions in 2026.
Introduction
This report presents the estimated prevalence in the population of Scotland of 25 specific neurological conditions in 2026. Prevalence is defined as the number or proportion of people in the population with a specific condition. The estimates derive from general practice recorded diagnoses: specifically, the number of people registered with a general practice in Scotland and with a diagnosis ever recorded for the specified condition. It builds on a previous report published in 2022.
