Sets out our future workforce requirements in a national context and provides revised workforce planning guidance to health and social care employers.
Important COVID-19 Update
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the timescales for publication of local NHS Board and Integration Authority Workforce Plans outlined in the Workforce Planning Guidance have been updated on the following links:

NHS Boards and Integration Authorities are now requested to ensure that a 3 year Workforce Plan is developed no later than 31st March 2022. These plans should cover the period 1st April 2022 until 31st March 2025.
Please note that the timescales and delivery dates in this publication are subject to change due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The Guidance supporting file has also been replaced with an updated version.
An errata was published on 11/02/2020 as a result of textual changes to PDF pages 16, 25, and 28.
The PDF and HTML have both been updated within the document to reflect these changes.
