8. In 2017, 59% were in contact with drug treatment services in the six months prior to death, in 2018 around half (48%) of people were in contact in the six months prior. The most recent prevalence estimates suggest there are around 57,000 people with problem drug use in Scotland but only around 29,500 are receiving opioid substitution treatment.
