National Care Service: Procurement - Co-design Partnership Programme report - Easy read version

This is an easy read report from sessions Scottish Government held around health and social care procurement policy. These sessions were part of our Co-design Partnership Programme.

What we learned

At the sessions, people told us:

  • Evaluation questions should be clear and focussed.
  • Questions should check how services treat people as individuals. Answers should show respect for culture and what matters to people.
  • People feel their support workers affect their human rights. Questions should check that the service providers understand this. Questions should also check there is training to help staff support human rights.
  • Good answers should show real proof of what had been done or what will be done. They should not just list policies.
  • Good answers should show how service providers involve people in their own care and support.
  • Good answers should show how service providers support human rights.
