GDP Monthly Estimate: September 2025

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.


Scotland’s onshore GDP grew by 0.2% in the three months to September (Quarter 3), compared to the previous three month period (2025 Quarter 2). This is consistent with the growth of 0.2% in 2025 Quarter 2, compared with 2025 Quarter 1.

 

Monthly GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.7% in September 2025, after revised contraction of 0.2% in August (revised down from -0.1%). This follows revised contraction of 0.4% in July (revised down from -0.3%).
