GDP Monthly Estimate: June 2025

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.


Scotland’s onshore GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.6% in June, after revised growth of 0.1% in May (revised up from -0.2%). This follows revised growth of 0.3% in April (revised up from 0.1%).

 

In the three months to June (Quarter 2 2025), GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.2% compared to the previous three month period (Quarter 1 2025). This follows unrevised growth of 0.4% in Quarter 1 2025.

 

In June the sectors with the largest positive contribution to overall GDP were Professional, Scientific and Technical Services, and Manufacturing, which each contributed around 0.2 percentage points of growth towards headline GDP. The largest negative contributor was Information & Communications, which contributed around -0.1 percentage points towards headline GDP.
