GDP Monthly Estimate: February 2026

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure the output of the economy in Scotland. These monthly estimates are designated as Official Statistics in Development. All results are seasonally adjusted and presented in real terms (adjusted to remove inflation), and relate to Scotland’s onshore economy (which does not include offshore oil and gas extraction).

This monthly bulletin leads with three-month on three-month growth rates (alongside the one-month on one-month growth rate), this smooths out some of the volatility in monthly data, consistent with ONS changes to reporting, see ONS blog.  Note these data cover the period before the beginning of the conflict in Iran on Saturday 28th of February.
