GDP Monthly Estimate: February 2026
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.

In the three months to February 2026, compared to the three months to November 2025:
- Scotland’s real onshore Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is estimated to have grown by 0.2%. This follows revised growth of 0.1% in the three months to January 2026 and revised growth of 0.2% in the three months to December 2025.
- Services sector output is estimated to have grown by 0.5%, while the production sector is estimated to have contracted by 0.6%. Construction sector output contracted by 1.6%.
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and Information & Communications made the largest positive contributions to overall GDP growth, contributing around 0.1 percentage points respectively towards headline growth. The Electricity & Gas Supply sector made the largest negative contribution contributing around 0.2 percentage points.
Monthly GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.1% in February 2026, after unrevised growth of 0.5% in January. This follows no growth (0.0% change) in December 2025.
