Island communities impact assessment (ICIA) for The Deposit and Return Scheme for Scotland Regulations 2020, as amended by the Deposit and Return Scheme for Scotland (Amendment) Regulations 2025; and the Deposit and Return Scheme for Scotland (Designation of Scheme Administrator) Order 2025.
Decision
91. The Scottish Government has determined that a full ICIA is not required to be undertaken for this policy proposal. Evidence collected during prior consultations suggested no significantly different impacts for those living in island communities.
92. Previous discussion across relevant Scottish Government departments, and pre-consultation engagement with island representatives, also support the decision that a full island assessment is not required.
