GDP First Quarterly Estimate 2025 Q2 (April to June)
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure the output of the economy in Scotland. The GDP first quarterly estimate is an accredited national statistics publication for Scotland.

- Scotland’s GDP grew by 0.2% in real terms during the second quarter of 2025 (April to June), after growing 0.4% in the previous quarter (January to March 2025). In the second quarter, GDP in the UK as a whole grew by 0.3% after growing by 0.7% in the previous quarter.
- In the second quarter of 2025 services output grew by 0.6%, production contracted by 2.3%, construction grew by 1.2% and agriculture, forestry and fishing contracted by 1.0%. Growth in the Business Services & Finance sector made the largest positive contributions towards total GDP.
- Compared to the same quarter last year, Scotland’s GDP grew by 0.9%. Over the same period, GDP in the UK as a whole grew by 1.2%.
