  • delivery approach, experience and capability
  • future sustainability
  • innovation and creativity

Project monitoring

Awardees will have to provide regular progress reports. Any delays, risks, or problems must be communicated immediately. Significant changes must be discussed with the Scottish Government in advance. This may require an amended contract, impacting the award's terms and conditions. If a project becomes undeliverable, inform the Scottish Government urgently to explore solutions. If no solution is found, the contract may be voided, and the award withdrawn. Any advance milestone payments for non-delivered activities may be recoverable.

Funding award process

Successful applicants will receive a contract award letter by email, outlining the total grant awarded, approved milestones, and corresponding grant payments. Evidence of milestone completion and proof of eligible expenditure must be provided for verification before grant payments are made. That letter will also detail ineligible costs. VAT cannot be claimed by the grantee, nor can employment costs arising from legal obligations to employees (e.g., parental leave, sick leave, redundancy).

Project delivery timeline

All proposed activities must be delivered, and project costs incurred by 31 March 2026. Projects will be assessed for feasibility of delivery within this timescale, including a requirement for a full project report.

Project delivery locations

Projects should be delivered in Scotland.
