Renewable electricity generation

In 2025, a record 38.5 TWh of renewable electricity was generated in Scotland. This is a 0.7% increase from the 38.3 TWh generated in 2024 (Figure 1).

The majority of renewable electricity generation in Scotland in 2025 came from wind technologies (30.8 TWh) followed by hydro technologies (4.6 TWh).
