Quarterly operational capacity figures for renewable electricity generation were revised by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The revision has impacted the reported figures and chart on the 'Renewable electricity capacity' page of this publication as follows.
- The total renewable electricity generation capacity at the end of December 2024 has been revised down from 17.6 GW to 17.4 GW. The reduction is due to a decrease in the amount of operational offshore wind capacity down from 4.3 GW to 4.1 GW.
- The reported percentage change in operational capacity from the end of 2023 to the end of 2024 has decreased from 14.3% to 12.9% and the reported increase in fixed offshore wind capacity over the same period has changed from 1.3 GW to 1.1 GW.
