The expenditure statistics in this publication are for the amounts spent or committed to be spent on DHP awards for the financial year 1 April 2025 to 30 September 2025. Committed spend occurs, for example, if a local authority decides to award funds for the whole of 2025-26, but this may be paid out in instalments throughout the year rather than in one lump sum.
Chart 1 and Table 3 show the value of DHPs in Scotland during the financial year 2025-26, with a comparison of the spend profile for 2024-25. Spending during 2025-26 started below that of 2024-25, but has followed a steeper profile to surpass it by August.
