Discretionary Housing Payments in Scotland: 1 April 2024 to 30 September2024

The official statistics expenditure figures are amounts spent on awards in 2024-25 up to 30 September plus amounts committed to be spent in the remainder of the financial year. Committed spend occurs, for example, if a local authority decides to award funds for the whole of 2024-25, but this may be paid out in instalments throughout the year rather than in one lump sum.

Chart 1 and Table 3 show actual and committed spend in 2024-25, with a comparison of the spend profile for 2023-24. Spending during 2024-25 has been above that for the previous year every month, and followed a broadly similar profile.
