Disability equality plan: part 1 - easy read

The Disability Equality Plan is available in accessible formats. Easy read part 1 covers the first section of the document in an easy to read format with descriptive images

About our plan

We want all disabled people in Scotland to be able to:

  • choose what they do
  • have the same chance to join in with things

It will take a long time to make everything fair for everybody.

We have had to make difficult decisions about what the money can and cannot do.

We have written this plan together with DPOs.

We really value DPOs.

Our first work is called the first phase.

Our first phase is to change attitudes.

Attitudes mean the ways people think about things.

We are using the lived experience of disabled people to help make:

  • good decisions
  • better mental health
  • better advice and services

Lived experience means things that happen in people’s lives.
