Introduction

The Community Right to Buy was introduced in Scotland in 2003. It allows communities in Scotland to buy land and buildings for their use.

There have been 268 applications for a right to buy. Interest in community ownership is rising across Scotland. The Scottish Government wants to make the Community Right to Buy process easier to use.
