This children's rights and wellbeing impact assessment (CRWIA) considers the potential effects of the Early Years Assistance (Best Start Grants) (Scotland) Regulations 2018 and how it impacts on children.

Conclusions

The CRWIA process has identified that the BSG will have many positive impacts on children in lower income families and young parents. Where possible, negative impacts identified have been mitigated in the final regulations.

The BSG policy and process has been co‑designed with stakeholders, informed by the experience of individuals.
