Safe havens: charter
Safe havens are secure facilities that provide a controlled environment for accessing and processing personal health and social care data. This Charter sets out the operational framework for Safe Havens in Scotland providing principles and standards to support the use of data to enable research and innovation.
Appendices
Appendices which outline the standard ways of working across SSHN will be published by RDS. These appendices, which are separate from the Charter, serve as living documents that can be reviewed and updated on a more regular basis to ensure alignment with evolving practices and regulatory requirements. They will detail key operational areas, including Disclosure Control, Public Benefit, Industry Engagement, and the ongoing Federation Cross-Border project. Regular reviews of these appendices ensure the SSHN remains adaptable, transparent, and accountable in its mission to support secure data handling and collaborative initiatives.
