Safe havens: charter

Safe havens are secure facilities that provide a controlled environment for accessing and processing personal health and social care data. This Charter sets out the operational framework for Safe Havens in Scotland providing principles and standards to support the use of data to enable research and innovation.


Audit and Self-Assessment

SSHN are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data security and governance. To ensure compliance and continuous improvement, they undergo a combination of externally conducted audits and rigorous self-assessments. These assessments are aligned with recognised industry standards and regulations, helping to safeguard data and support public benefit.
