The Charges for Residues Surveillance Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2026: equality impact assessment (EQIA)
The EQIA considers the potential impacts of the above Regulations, which updates fees in Scotland required to be paid in relation to surveillance of animals and animal products for residues of veterinary medicinal products and other substances.
Key Findings
The EQIA demonstrated that the proposals are not expected to impact these groups, as the proposals are specifically about charges companies are exposed to when engaging with the NRCP. No topics of concern were raised when considering Scottish Animal Health and Welfare and Food Standards Scotland expertise or internal policy and Ministerial discussions. There is no evidence to suggest that specific persons will be impacted by the proposals. The impact of the proposals is limited and does not impose any additional impacts on any individuals falling within any of the current protected characteristics when compared to the existing policy. The overall impacts of the proposals on the public are anticipated to be neutral, and it is considered there are neutral impacts for each protected characteristic under each of the three Public Sector Equality Duties (PSED) needs.
